Accra Hearts of Oak made a gross amount of Ghc 393,830 from their game against sworn rivals Asante Kotoko over the weekend in match-day 14 of the Ghana Premier League.
The two most glamorous clubs in the country squared off against each other for the first time in the 2023/24 football season – in a game that was really exciting and produced five goals – which has been typically unusual of this fixture for the past years.
According to Kumasi-based Akoma FM, a total of 13,913 tickets were purchased by football fans and has seen them raised a gross revenue of Ghc 393,830.
The ‘Phobians’ opened the scoring account on the 37th minute through Linda Mtange, Isaac Oppong got the equalizer in the dying embers of the first half for Kotoko.
Steven Mukwala handed the Porcupine Warriors the lead in the second half with a brace before Martin Karikari scored to reduce the deficit.
Undoubtedly, this is the biggest revenue Hearts of Oak have made from gate proceeds so far this season.
