Ghana left-back Gideon Mensah has apologized to Ghanaians for the 2023 AFCON failure in Ivory Coast.

“Very heavy heart & deep thoughts after our unfortunate exit from the ongoing AFCON.

“We set out on high but disappointed our motherland and fans whose diehard support we can never take for granted”, wrote Gideon Mensah, via his X account.

The 25-year-old Auxerre left-back played every minute of Ghana’s three games in Ivory Coast and produced a very quiet performance.

The former WAFA left-back has become a regular for the Black Stars but must up his game to cement the left-back position.

Ghana endured an unforgettable AFCON after failing to win a single game in Group.
