Medeama SC has a huge task at hand as they bid to beat the 11-time winner of the CAF Champions League in a make-or-break fixture for the Mauve and Yellow.

The minnows from Ghana are bottom of the table and are separated by two points in Group D with the Red Devils from Egypt occupying the top spot.

Medema SC has won once in the 4 games played in Group D. It was a delightful late win against Belouizdad in Kumasi. Al Ahly on the other hand has also recorded a single win in the games they have played. The win was against Friday’s opponents in Medeama as the Red Devils massacred the Mauve and Yellow 3-0 on MD1. The other three of Ahly’s games have ended in a draw.

Medeama SC owner Moses Armah Parker declared how ready the Tarkwa-based club is for Al Ahly when speaking to Peace FM in the build-up to the game.

It is a must-win game for Medeama as even a draw will take their destiny out of their hands.

Few changes have been made since Yanga’s 3-0 thrashing of Medeama in Dar es Salaam. Head coach Evans Adotey has returned to his Technical Director role and was replaced by Bosnian head coach Nebojsa Kapor, star striker Jonathan Sowah has been sold to Libyan side Al Nasr Benghanzi as many signings have been made including Diawisie Taylor.

Al Ahly will miss the service of El Shenawy as Shobeir will replace him. Malian midfielder Aliou Dieng will also miss through injury.

All the Egyptian national team stars alongside Percy Tau, Anthony Modeste and Ali Maaloul will be in action on Friday.

Medeama SC has a huge task to protect Ghana’s history against Al Ahly because they are playing against a team that has never won in the CAF Champions League in Ghana in the 8 games played in Accra, Kumasi and Obuasi against Hearts of Oak, Asante Kotoko and Berekum Chelsea.
