The Ghanaian women’s national football team, the Black Queens, intensified their preparations for the upcoming second leg match against the Zambian team, the Copper Queens, in the qualifiers for the 2024 Olympic Games.

Following a challenging first leg encounter at the Accra Sports Stadium, where the Black Queens dominated possession but were unable to convert their chances, ultimately conceding a narrow 1-0 defeat from a setpiece, coach Nora Hauptle’s side is determined to overturn the scoreline in the return leg.

In their quest to stage a comeback, the Black Queens embarked on a journey to Ndola, Zambia, where they held their second training session on Sunday afternoon. Despite the disappointment of the previous match, the team remains focused and determined to rectify their performance and secure a positive result in the upcoming fixture.

Prior to their second training session in Zambia, the Black Queens arrived safely and wasted no time in getting down to business, holding their first training session on Saturday. Now, with just a few days remaining before the crucial second leg meeting, the team is leaving no stone unturned in their preparations, eager to showcase their abilities and secure a place in the next stage of the qualifiers.

Under the watchful guidance of coach Nora Hauptle, the Black Queens are working tirelessly on the training ground, fine-tuning their tactics and sharpening their skills in anticipation of what promises to be a tough and fiercely contested encounter against the Copper Queens. With two more days of training before the showdown on Wednesday, February 28, the Black Queens are fully focused on their goal of overturning the deficit and emerging victorious in Zambia.

As the countdown to the decisive second leg match continues, the Black Queens remain determined and united in their pursuit of Olympic qualification, ready to give their all on the field and make their nation proud.
