It is official; the former Super Eagles superstar Finidi George has been unveiled as the new head coach of Nigeria.
The new coach who assisted Jose Peseiro for 20 months has signed his contract and is expected to last for 2 years, at least.
The event was attended by John Enoh, Sports Development Minister, president of the NFF, Ibrahim Gusau, NFF General Secretary, Dr Mohammed Sanusi and Sports Development Ministry Secretary Mrs Tinuke Watti.
Finidi George was part of the Nigeria squad that won the 1994 AFCON. The new head coach is tasked with qualifying Nigeria for the 2026 FIFA World Cup to be hosted in the USA, Canada and Mexico. The former Enyimba head coach is also expected to win the 2025 AFCON to be played in Morocco.
