German-born Ghanaian forward Jamie Leweling has officially joined VfB Stuttgart on a permanent basis.
Leweling has signed a contract that will keep him with Stuttgart until June 2028, following a successful loan spell from Union Berlin during the 2023/24 season.
The 23-year-old impressed during his loan stint, making 38 competitive appearances and contributing 10 goals. In the Bundesliga, he played in all 34 matches, scoring four goals and providing six assists, helping Stuttgart secure a second-place finish.
“I feel really comfortable at VfB. The coaching staff, the team, and the fans welcomed me very well. I’m glad that I’ll continue here in the future,” Leweling stated. Reflecting on his season, he added, “It was a bit difficult for me at the beginning of the season, but I was able to improve over the course of the season and am on the right track. This season has been incredible.”
Stuttgart sports director Fabian Wohlgemuth also expressed his satisfaction with Leweling’s permanent signing. “Jamie played in all Bundesliga games of the season. That alone shows his importance for the team. His commitment and willingness to work for the team also make him a very valuable player for us. We also see further development potential with Jamie and have therefore decided to tie Jamie to VfB in the long term,” he said.
Leweling’s consistent performance and dedication have clearly made a significant impact at VfB Stuttgart, securing his future with the club.
