Nigeria soared into the semi-finals of the 2024 WAFU B U17 Cup of Nations after a commanding 3-0 victory over Togo in the final Group B clash on Thursday morning.

The Golden Eaglets will now face Cote d’Ivoire in the semi-finals, with the Ivorians finishing second in Group A behind Ghana.

The game was rescheduled from Wednesday to Thursday morning due to a heavy downpour. Despite the delay, the Eaglets maintained their focus and determination at the Rugby Stadium in Accra.

They asserted their dominance early in the game, as Abdulmuiz Adeleke opened the scoring with an assist from Abdulmuiz Oladimeji. Rapha Adams extended the lead with a well-executed header from Simon Cletus’ precise cross, marking his second goal of the tournament.

Adeleke secured his brace with a clinical finish following a sublime through pass from Cletus, although he missed an opportunity to complete his hat-trick after failing to convert a penalty.

Having clinched the top spot in Group B with seven points, the Eaglets are set to clash with Cote d’Ivoire in the semi-finals, while hosts Ghana are scheduled to face Burkina Faso in the other semi-final encounter.
