The 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers will resume in June with Nigeria needing to beat South Africa and Benin to boost their chance of making it to the USA-Canada-Mexico even though it’s too early.

The Super Eagles have just won 2 points from their two opening games.

Newly appointed head coach, George Finidi, has named his 23-man squad for MD3 and 4 of the qualifiers.

The squad is headed by the famous Ademola Lookman who dazzled on Wednesday night in Dublin at the Aviva Stadium in Atalanta’s 3-0 evisceration of Bayer Leverkusen in the finals of the UEFA Europa League.

Stars like Victor Osimhen, Victor Boniface, Wilfred Ndidi and Calvin Bassey are included.

The biggest omissions are Nottingham Forest’s defender Ola Aina and FC Porto left-back Zaidu Sanusi.

Nigeria will host South Africa before travelling to Benin.

Check out the full list.
