It has been confirmed that Victor Osimhen will miss Nigeria’s crucial World Cup qualifiers against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa and the Squirrels of Benin.

Napoli striker Osimhen will miss the next four weeks after reports confirmed that he is injured.

Enugu Rangers’ left-back Kenneth Igboke has therefore been called up by head coach Finidi George to replace the 24-year-old Napoli striker.

Nigeria has just two points from the two games played and must at least win four points from the games against South Africa and Benin next month.

In the absence of Victor Osimhen, Atalanta’s hero Ademola Lookman and Bayer 04 Leverkusen’s star striker Victor Boniface are expected to step up and deliver.

Nigeria will host South Africa and travel to Benin for the MD3 and 4 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
