Some selected players of the Senior National team led by captain Thomas Partey paid a courtesy call on the Chief Executive Officer of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) Dr Dacosta Aboagye ahead of their tough World Cup qualifier against Mali.

Senior players of Blacks Stars including Thomas Partey, Mohammed Kudus, Antoine Semenyo, Alexander Djiku, Alidu Seidu, Ernest Nuamah and Mohammed Salisu paid a visit to the transformational leader of the NHIA before emplaning to Mali on Tuesday afternoon.

As part of the new CEO’S policy towards preventive health care and general wellness of all citizens, he took advantage of the visit by players to drum home the need for all citizens to embrace the free medical check once a year to prioritize their well-being by replicating the wellness and fitness nature of the gallant Black Stars players who engage in constant health routine checks from time to time.

The new CEO is championing a policy where citizens prevent any form of illness through basic constant medical check-ups like blood pressure, sugar level and BMI. The vison of the NHIA boss is premise on preventive health care rather than curative measures which can be very fatal and costly to the state.

Mr. Dacosta Aboagye within his short stint as the NHIA boss has earned a lot of praise for leading a campaign which has brought huge relief for renal patients by offering free dialysis for children under 18 and adults above 60 years. The novel initiative which was applauded by the team is also providing various subsidies for individuals aged 18 to 59 years at different hospital facilities across the country.

In attendance at the brief meeting included top brass of the NHIA executive management including Deputy CEO in Charge of Operations Dr. Mrs. Yaa Pokuaa Baiden, Deputy CEO in Charge of Operations Louisa Atta-Agyemang (Mrs.), Ag Director of Corporate Affairs Oswald Essuah Mensah, Director of Procurement Mr. Frank Yeboah, Deputy Director, investment, Mrs. Eva Okai and other senior managers of the Authority.

The visit of the Black Stars to the NHIA precedes a courtesy call made by the president of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Okraku to congratulate Mr. Dacosta Aboagye two months ago after his appointment to the top position.

Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association, Henry Asante Twum, led the delegation that paid the courtesy call to National Health Insurance Authority.

Staff of the Authority took advantage of the visit by the players to take photographs with their favorite players.
