In a thrilling showdown marking the penultimate fixture of the season in the Ghana Premier League, Bernard Kesse emerged as the hero for Accra Lions, propelling them to victory over Dreams FC with a second-half winner.

The decisive moment arrived when the winger, Kesse, expertly breached Dreams FC’s defense, unleashing a precise strike past goalkeeper Solomon Agbasi from within the penalty area.

The encounter brimmed with excitement from the outset, with Accra Lions displaying early promise. Dominic Amponsah’s pinpoint cross nearly resulted in an own goal for Dreams FC, setting the tone for a fiercely contested battle. However, Dreams FC sought to assert themselves, with Issah Aziz’s free-kick testing Accra Lions’ resolve.

As the first half unfolded, both sides sought to gain the upper hand. Accra Lions’ Mohammed Yahaya orchestrated a promising move, setting up David Oduro, whose delivery found Seidu Sadat, but the midfielder’s effort narrowly missed the target. Moments later, John Antwi’s aerial prowess threatened Accra Lions’ defense, albeit without success.

The tempo intensified after the interval, with Accra Lions seizing the initiative. Dominic Amponsah rattled the woodwork, signaling their intent. The breakthrough finally arrived on the hour mark, courtesy of Bernard Kesse’s clinical finish, igniting jubilant celebrations among the home faithful.

Despite Dreams FC’s spirited response, spearheaded by Yahaya’s menacing presence, they were unable to breach Accra Lions’ resolute defense. As the clock ticked down, goalkeeper Daniel Afful produced a crucial save to deny Dreams FC an equalizer.

In the dying embers of the contest, Accra Lions had an opportunity to extend their lead through Abdul Shakun, but the winger faltered, ultimately preserving their slender advantage and securing a vital victory in their quest for league glory.
