Rio Ave FC have bid farewell to Ghanaian strikers Abdul Aziz Yakubu and Emmanuel Boateng, acknowledging their significant contributions to the team.
Yakubu spent three years with the Green and Whites, while Boateng spent two, and both players played crucial roles in the team’s success. In the just-concluded season, Yakubu netted six goals and provided two assists in sixteen matches, helping Rio Ave maintain their top-flight status.
Boateng, on the other hand, contributed nine goals, scoring seven and assisting two in 27 appearances.
Both players are now free agents and can join any club they choose. Rio Ave FC finished the 2023/24 season on the 11th position with 37 points, missing out on European football next season.
The Portuguese Premiera Liga side expressed their gratitude for the duo’s service, recognizing their impact on the team’s performances.
