Midfield maestro Richmond Lamptey is poised to part ways with Asante Kotoko after mutually agreeing with the Ghanaian giants to terminate his contract.

Having linked up with the Porcupine Warriors in September 2021 following his stint at Inter Allies, the 27-year-old midfielder is set to embark on a fresh chapter as he prepares to bid farewell to the club.

With just two months remaining on his current deal, Lamptey, who has graced the Ghanaian top-flight for a decade, expressed his desire to seek new horizons and explore fresh opportunities in his footballing career.

A key figure in the Black Stars squad during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, Lamptey aims to secure a new club before the commencement of the upcoming season.

After enduring a lackluster campaign in the Ghana Premier League, Asante Kotoko is shifting its focus to revamp the squad for the forthcoming 2024/25 season. The club has already parted ways with eighteen players to facilitate new signings and bolster the team.

Following a trophyless season, where they finished sixth in the league standings, the Ghanaian heavyweights are gearing up for a revamped squad under new management.
