Nico joined Athletic Bilbao’s esteemed youth academy at just 11 years old, dedicating himself to honing his skills. As he progressed through the ranks, his pace, agility, and vision made him a standout player. His promotion to the reserve team in 2020 and subsequent debut with the first team in 2021 marked significant milestones in his young career.

Nico’s impressive form caught the attention of Spain’s national team selectors, and he made his debut for La Roja in 2022. At just 20, he became an integral part of the team, participating in the 2022 FIFA World Cup and UEFA Euro 2024 campaigns.
