Ghanaian winger Ibrahim Osman has completed a move to Dutch club Feyenoord on a season-long loan from Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion.
The 19-year-old has joined the Eredivisie outfit in order to gain more playing time and experience before returning to England.
Osman, who joined Brighton from Danish club FC Nordsjaelland on a five-year deal this summer, was part of the Premier League’s pre-season squad and made a couple of appearances. However, he has been farmed out on loan to Feyenoord in order to further develop his game.
The loan deal does not include a buy option, and the Dutch club will cover Osman’s full wages. This move is seen as an opportunity for him to gain valuable experience, similar to the development paths taken by Brighton players Kaoru Mitoma and Simon Adingra, who also benefited from loan spells before joining the first team.
Osman impressed during his time in Denmark, where he recorded six goals and seven assists in 26 games. He has already debuted for the Black Stars and is looking to cement his place in the national team.
