Ghanaian international Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has voiced his frustration following Leicester City’s 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa in the Premier League on Saturday.

The Black Stars winger played 68 minutes in the clash at King Power Stadium, where the Foxes struggled to overcome their opponents. Aston Villa took the lead in the 28th minute through Belgium international Amadou Onana and held the advantage going into halftime.

In the second half, Jhon Duran doubled Villa’s lead in the 63rd minute, putting Leicester under further pressure. Although Facundo Buonanotte managed to pull one back for the Foxes in the 73rd minute, it wasn’t enough to prevent the defeat.

Following the match, Issahaku took to Instagram to share his thoughts: “Thanks to the fans for their amazing support. A hard one to take, but we learned some positive things from it, and we focus on the next.”

Issahaku was substituted by Bilal El Khannous, while his fellow Ghanaian international, Jordan Ayew, lasted 67 minutes in the highly anticipated encounter.

Both players have since joined the Black Stars camp in preparation for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. Ghana is set to host Angola at the Baba Yara Stadium on Thursday, September 5, before traveling to Morocco to face Niger on September 9, 2024.
