Asante Kotoko coach Prosper Ogum announces starting XI for Karela United clash; Camara, Esmat, Ablorh, others start, Blay benched

Asante Kotoko head coach, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, has named his starting lineup for this afternoon’s Ghana Premier League opener against Karela United.

The match will take place at the Naa Sheriga Sports Stadium, with kick-off set for 15:00 GMT.

Notably, key players such as Justice Blay and Emmanuel Kotei have been left out of the starting eleven.

Guinean international, Mohammed Camara will replace regular goalkeeper Frederick Asare who is on an international duty in the starting lineup.

The Porcupine Warriors are embarking on a fresh campaign, hoping to improve on their 6th-place finish from last season, where they recorded 14 wins, 7 draws, and 13 losses.

Below is the full list of Asante Kotoko’s confirmed Starting XI for their match against Karela United:

Goalkeeper: Mohammed Camara

Defenders: Lord Amoah, Esmat Abdulhamid, Joseph Ablorh, Samba O’Neil

Midfielders: Ntim Manu, Michael Kyei Dwamena, Emmanuel Antwi

Forwards: Albert Amoah , Baba Yahaya, Peter Amidu Acquah

Asante Kotoko will be aiming to start the season strong and claim all three points in their first match of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League.
