Karela United are preparing cautiously for their clash with Hearts of Oak, fully aware of the Phobians’ impressive away form ahead of their Matchweek 11 encounter in the Ghana Premier League.
Hearts of Oak have been strong on the road this season, boasting the second-best away record in the league. Under the guidance of Aboubakar Ouattara, they have secured victories against Medeama and Young Apostles, with only Nations FC performing better in away fixtures.
Speaking ahead of the game at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium in Tamale, Karela United goalkeeper Nasiru Abdul Karim acknowledged the challenge posed by Hearts of Oak but expressed confidence in his team’s ability to rise to the occasion.
“If you look at Hearts of Oak, they are good at playing away,” Nasiru said. “I think we are going to do our maximum best to get our three points, In Sha Allah. Our performances at home have not been good, but we will bounce back and make the supporters happy.”
The stakes are high for both teams. Hearts of Oak currently sit fifth on the league table with 15 points, while Karela United are 15th with just nine points. The Pride and Passion will be aiming to improve their home form and climb out of the relegation zone, while the Phobians will seek to maintain their momentum on the road.
