Karela United head coach Jimmy James Corbblah has downplayed any notion of superiority from Hearts of Oak, stating that his players are just as capable as their opponents.
The Pride and Passion will face the Phobians in a Matchweek 11 fixture of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium in Tamale.
Speaking during the pre-match press conference, Corbblah expressed confidence in his team despite their recent struggles. “I told Karela United players that Accra Hearts of Oak is not better than them. Our problem is that we are not scoring,” he said.
Karela United has been battling a goal-scoring drought, netting only once in their last five matches and failing to score in their last three games. The team is also winless in their previous three outings, adding pressure to turn their fortunes around.
In contrast, Hearts of Oak boast the league’s second-best away form, having secured wins on the road against Medeama and Young Apostles. Only Nations FC has a better away record this season.
While the Phobians will be aiming for a third consecutive victory, Karela United will focus on ending their winless run and regaining momentum.
