Former Asante Kotoko captain Amos Frimpong has rejoined the club in a new capacity, serving as Deputy Welfare Officer and Youth Team Manager.

The Kumasi-based Ghana Premier League giants announced his appointment on Monday, November 15, in a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter). “We are pleased to announce that former captain Amos Frimpong has returned to the club to serve in the capacity as deputy welfare officer and team manager for our youth team,” the club stated.

Frimpong’s return highlights Kotoko’s commitment to leveraging the experience of its former players to shape the club’s future and nurture young talent.

As part of its ongoing restructuring efforts, Kotoko also announced changes to its Interim Management Committee (IMC). A directive from His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and the Manhyia Palace outlined the decision for Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum to step down from his IMC responsibilities to focus solely on his role as Head Coach.

“This decision has been made to allow Dr. Ogum to fully dedicate his efforts to his primary role as Head Coach, with a continued focus on leading the team to success on the pitch and advancing the club’s sporting objectives,” the club explained.

The restructuring is part of a broader strategy to enhance operations and align with the vision set by Manhyia Palace.

Frimpong’s appointment is seen as a significant boost for the club’s welfare and youth development programs, reinforcing Kotoko’s efforts to build a sustainable and successful future.
