Nora Häuptle has officially exited her role as head coach of the Black Queens following the expiration of her contract with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) on December 31, 2024.

The Swiss coach was appointed by the GFA to succeed Mercy Tagoe-Quarcoo, who had led the Ghana women’s national team since 2019. During her tenure, Häuptle achieved notable success by guiding the Black Queens to qualify for the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), set to take place in Morocco later this year.

However, her tenure was not without setbacks. The Black Queens failed to secure a spot at the upcoming Olympic Games after losing to Zambia’s Copper Queens.

Reports suggest that Häuptle is poised to take over as the head coach of Zambia’s Copper Queens, with a two-year contract offering a monthly salary of $7,000. Her appointment was reportedly approved by the Executive Committee of the Zambia Football Association on December 21, 2024.

Meanwhile, the GFA has initiated the search for a new head coach to lead the Black Queens as they prepare for the 2025 WAFCON.
