Hearts of Oak head coach Aboubakar Ouattara has pushed back against criticisms labeling his team as weak, stressing that his primary focus remains on consistency and securing crucial victories.
Speaking after his side’s narrow 1-0 win over Legon Cities FC in the Ghana Premier League, Ouattara addressed the skepticism surrounding his squad during an interview with AFA Sports.
“Some people say we have a weak team, but we are playing. Every match is a challenge to Hearts of Oak. For now, we need to target maximum points from every game,” he emphasized.
Reflecting on the match, Ouattara admitted that his team encountered difficulties, particularly during the first half. “It is normal to lose the 50/50 balls. When the other team is fighting, you also have to fight, but we didn’t fight in the first half. Fortunately, we got the chance to score,” he explained.
The hard-fought victory has propelled Hearts of Oak to second place in the Ghana Premier League standings, reinforcing their determination to maintain their momentum and silence their doubters.
