Asante Kotoko’s Sporting Affairs Manager, Kwesi Appiah, has expressed confidence in the club’s ability to retain its players, citing timely salary payments and attractive incentives as a cornerstone of their player welfare strategy.
“This is a squad that occasionally receives salary payments as early as the 25th or 26th of each month,” Appiah revealed in an interview with Akoma FM. “The following day, they receive bonuses for winning matches.”
Appiah lauded the club’s leadership for their unwavering support, which he believes has fostered an environment of satisfaction and motivation among the players.
“I don’t think any team can match the incentives Kotoko offers their players. We’re doing our best with the King’s assistance. Unless there are other factors, I’d be surprised if any player currently at Kotoko considered leaving,” he remarked.
Despite their efforts off the field, Kotoko’s performance on the pitch has been mixed this season. The Porcupine Warriors currently sit fifth on the Ghana Premier League table with 28 points, as they look to climb higher in the second half of the campaign.
