Kofi Adams, the newly appointed Minister-Designate for Sports and Recreation, has proudly disclosed his unwavering support for Ghanaian football powerhouse Asante Kotoko.

The Porcupine Warriors, one of Africa’s most illustrious football clubs, boast an impressive history, including a record 24 Ghana Premier League titles and two CAF Champions League triumphs. The International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) crowned them African Club of the Century, cementing their place as a continental giant.

When asked about his club allegiance during an interview with Happy FM, Kofi Adams, 49, revealed, “I support Asante Kotoko.”

Hailing from Teteman in the Jasikan District of Ghana’s Oti Region, Adams holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology, specializing in the Epidemiology of Parasitic Diseases.

As he awaits parliamentary vetting and approval, Adams is poised to leverage his role to transform sports in Ghana. Should he receive the green light from the Appointments Committee of Parliament, he will focus on key priorities such as talent identification, youth development, creating sustainable funding models, and advancing policies to strengthen the sports sector.

Adams’ appointment has generated optimism, with many hoping his passion for sports, particularly his love for Asante Kotoko, will drive initiatives that elevate Ghanaian sports to new heights.
