Former Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Ibrahim Sannie Daara, has revealed that despite serving the Black Stars for several years, he never received any financial compensation for his work.
Speaking in an interview with Sporty FM, Daara addressed the ongoing debate about payments made to the Management Committee members of the national team.
His comments come in the wake of reports confirming that after Ghana’s participation in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, each Management Committee member was paid $100,000.
However, Daara, who worked with the Black Stars for nearly a decade and now serves as a Senior CAF Media Officer, stated that he was never financially rewarded for his role.
“When I was working with the Black Stars, I did not get anything,” he told Sporty FM.
He further urged the GFA to strengthen its engagement with the government to ensure transparency and clarify the reasons behind compensating Management Committee members for their contributions.
