Southampton manager Ivan Juric has voiced concerns about Kamaldeen Sulemana’s decision-making following the Saints’ 1-0 FA Cup loss to Burnley on Saturday.
The Ghanaian winger displayed moments of brilliance but struggled with his final product, leaving his coach frustrated. Juric acknowledged Sulemana’s potential but emphasized the need for greater composure during critical moments.
“He did some really good things. I think he’s a little bit impatient at the moment, and he wants to do one-on-one in the situation that he has to play,” Juric told Daily Echo. “I think it’s normal because he’s really feeling good, he wants to do his best, and I’m sure that what I saw in training, even today, he will score the goals.”
Sulemana was active throughout the match, completing six of ten dribble attempts and recording 49 touches with an 81% passing accuracy. However, his efforts in front of goal fell short, managing just one off-target shot and having another blocked before being substituted in the 86th minute.
Despite the defeat, the 22-year-old remains an integral part of Southampton’s squad. With Juric’s support, Sulemana will focus on improving his decision-making and sharpening his impact in attacking situations.
