Ghanaian winger Ernest Nuamah delivered a standout performance, scoring and assisting as Olympique Lyon secured an emphatic 4-1 away win over Montpellier in Ligue 1 on Sunday.
Nuamah played the full 90 minutes at Stade de la Mosson-Mondial 98, playing a key role in Lyon’s dominant second-half display.
The visitors took an early lead just three minutes into the game when Georgian forward Georges Mikautadze finished off a pass from Rayan Cherki. However, Montpellier responded in the 38th minute, with Tanguy Coulibaly netting the equalizer to send the game into halftime at 1-1.
Nuamah then ignited Lyon’s second-half surge, scoring just five minutes after the restart before setting up Corentin Tolisso three minutes later to put his side in control.
Alexandre Lacazette sealed the victory in the 73rd minute, ensuring Lyon claimed all three points in convincing fashion.
The former FC Nordsjaelland star has now scored two goals in 16 Ligue 1 appearances this season, while his overall tally across all competitions stands at three goals and one assist in 24 games.
