Ghana’s commanding 5-0 win over Chad in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers brought immense joy to former President John Dramani Mahama, who admitted that the emphatic result reignited his appetite after earlier concerns about the stress of watching the Black Stars in action.

Before the match, Mahama had shared that he was advised to eat ahead of the game, as the tension of watching the national team often affects him. However, Otto Addo’s side delivered a dominant performance that put him at ease.

“I had a good appetite for dinner after the Black Stars’ 5-0 victory. Congrats, guys!” Mahama expressed in celebration of the crucial triumph.

Despite the convincing scoreline, the former president cautioned the team against complacency, urging them to use the victory as a stepping stone to reconnect with Ghanaians and reignite national pride.

“Let this victory not make us complacent. This should be the beginning of bringing back the LOVE,” he emphasized.

With Ghana now leading Group I, focus shifts to their upcoming encounter against Madagascar on Monday in Morocco. Mahama, along with millions of Ghanaians, will be hoping for another stellar performance to bring the Black Stars closer to securing a place in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
