True Democracy will aim to extend their remarkable run in the 2024/25 MTN FA Cup when they take on Asante Kotoko in the quarterfinals on Sunday, March 30, 2025, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
The Tema-based side, making their first-ever appearance at this stage of the competition, has defied expectations by knocking out former champions FC Nania and reigning holders Dreams FC.
Their impressive journey began with a 2-0 victory over Kwahu Rangers, followed by wins against Koforidua Semper Fi, Dreams FC, and FC Nania to book their place in the last eight.
Although True Democracy trails Zone Three leaders Hohoe United by 18 points in the Access Bank Division One League, their FA Cup campaign has been a different story. A blend of experienced players like Daniel Egyin, Kenneth Owusu, and Martey Mahama, alongside promising youngsters such as Abraham Odonkor, Adjei Martei, and Amin Abdul Basit, has fueled their success.
Asante Kotoko, currently leading the Ghana Premier League, head into the clash in top form. Striker Kwame Poku, who recently rejoined the club, will spearhead their attack, supported by key figures like Justice Blay, Samuel Tenedu, and captain Frederick Asare.
The highly anticipated showdown is set to kick off at 7:00 pm at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, where True Democracy will look to cause a major upset against the formidable Porcupine Warriors.
