Daniel Afriyie Barnieh scored the only goal for FC Zürich U21 in their 2-1 loss to SC Kriens in the Swiss Promotion League on Saturday.
The 23-year-old striker found the net with a smart finish, giving his team hope in the second half after they went behind by two goals.
Although Barnieh’s effort was not enough to turn the game around, his goal served as a consolation and showed his sharpness in front of goal. FC Zürich U21 continued to push for an equaliser, but SC Kriens held on to take all three points.
The Swiss Promotion League is the third tier of football in Switzerland, and Barnieh’s performance was a positive sign as he continues to develop and fight for a place in the senior team.
