Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak played out a goalless draw in a heated Ghana Premier League clash at the Accra Sports Stadium. Both sides created chances but failed to find the back of the net in a game filled with drama and strong defending.
Kotoko started brightly and kept Hearts’ defense busy in the opening minutes. They had two early chances from corners and looked more likely to score, but their finishing let them down. In the 13th minute, Andrews Ntim Manu fired a free-kick wide after a good run by Albert Amoah. A few minutes later, Kotoko shouted for a penalty when Kwame Opoku went down, but the referee said no.
In the second half, Hearts almost took the lead when Stephen Appiah Asare’s shot was saved well by Kotoko’s Mohammed Camara. Kotoko came close again when Saaka Dauda’s low shot rolled just wide.
Hearts continued to push, especially in the final 10 minutes. Albert Amoah sent a dangerous cross across the face of goal in the 81st minute, but no one was there to finish it. Despite having more of the ball, Hearts couldn’t break the deadlock, while Kotoko created more shots.
The draw leaves Kotoko in fourth place and Hearts in sixth, with Hearts’ chances of winning the league now almost gone.
