The Accra Sports Stadium has been officially confirmed as the venue for Ghana’s remaining home matches in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, following the disqualification of the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

This update was revealed by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Communications Director, Henry Asante Twum, who stated that the decision follows sanctions from CAF and FIFA after Baba Yara failed to meet required international standards.

“At the moment, the only approved venue for Black Stars matches is the Accra Sports Stadium. That will host Black Stars games in September and October,” Asante Twum told 3Sports.

Ghana will host Mali and Comoros in the next round of qualifiers as the four-time African champions aim to make their fifth World Cup appearance.

The Black Stars last played at the Accra Sports Stadium in March, securing a win over Chad in their fifth qualifying game.

Currently, Ghana sit top of Group I with 15 points, three ahead of second-placed Comoros, with just a few matches left to decide who qualifies for the global showpiece in North America.
