Abdul Fatawu Issahaku played a decisive role in Leicester City’s 1-0 victory over Charlton Athletic, delivering a stunning goal that secured all three points for the Foxes. The Ghanaian winger curled a beautiful shot into the top corner in the 48th minute, demonstrating his composure and talent amid growing transfer speculation surrounding his future.
Leicester City, recently relegated from the Premier League, have already sold key players including Conor Coady, Wilfred Ndidi, Mads Hermansen, and Kasey McAteer for a combined £45 million. Interest in Fatawu and teammate Bilal El Khannouss has further intensified, with Sunderland reportedly offering £28 million for the young winger. However, Leicester held firm on a £30 million valuation, leaving Fatawu poised to remain at the King Power Stadium for now.
Fatawu took to Instagram to celebrate the win, posting: “Not the game we expected but we stood tall to get the three points that was needed, great effort from the lads together with the fans. Thanks to the foxes – for their amazing support we stay together.” His message highlighted both his focus on the team and gratitude for fan support as Leicester push toward a quick return to the Premier League.
