The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced the appointment of Nurudeen Ahmed as the new head coach of the U-19 Boys National Team.
Ahmed, who currently manages Ghana Premier League side Karela United, will spearhead the technical team as preparations begin for the next cycle of youth competitions.
The experienced tactician is widely respected for his ability to develop talent and assemble competitive squads. He notably guided FC Samartex to their first-ever Ghana Premier League title in the 2023/24 season and has previously managed Aduana Stars and King Faisal. His arrival is expected to inject fresh energy into Ghana’s youth football project.
Supporting Ahmed in the technical setup is PAC Academy coach Abubakar Adams, who takes up the role of Assistant Coach. Former Ghana Premier League goal-king and ex-Asante Kotoko striker, Eric Bekoe, will serve as Athletic Coach, while former Ghana international Eric Gawu has been appointed Equipment Officer.
The team’s backroom staff also includes PAC Academy’s Stephen Ekow Davies as Goalkeepers’ Coach and Fatawu Mohammed as Welfare Officer. The medical department is led by Dr. Yusif Andani as Team Doctor, with Prince Deku serving as Physiotherapist.
These appointments, according to the GFA, form part of its broader strategy to strengthen youth development and create a clear pathway for grooming Ghana’s future football stars.
