Asante Kotoko defender Lord Amoah has expressed strong belief in the club’s chances of winning the Ghana Premier League title, insisting the Porcupine Warriors are determined to win all their remaining matches and finish the season on top.
The right-back acknowledged the team’s recent struggles, including their disappointing exit from the MTN FA Cup, and offered an apology to supporters for the dip in performance.
“We are disappointed with our recent poor performance, including our MTN FA Cup exit. We are sorry for that,” Amoah told Pure FM.
Despite trailing league leaders Medeama SC by eight points, Amoah remains confident that Kotoko can mount a successful title charge before the end of the season. According to him, the team is fully focused on turning things around, starting with this weekend’s high-profile encounter against Hearts of Oak.
“I can confidently say that we will win the rest of the games, starting from the Hearts of Oak game this Sunday. I promise we are winning the Ghana Premier League despite Medeama leading us by eight points,” he stated.
The defender also stressed the importance of strong backing from the supporters as the team prepares to reignite its campaign. He believes the presence and energy of the fans could play a crucial role in pushing the players to deliver positive results in the decisive phase of the season.
“All we need is the presence of our supporters,” he added.
Asante Kotoko will host arch-rivals Hearts of Oak on Sunday in a Matchday 22 showdown at the Baba Yara Stadium, a fixture expected to have a major impact on the title race as the Kumasi-based side look to begin their comeback push.
