Ghanaian winger Henry Addo has joined Portuguese side Tondela from Maccabi Tel Aviv, with the 23-year-old signing a contract that runs until 30 June 2028.
Addo, who plays on the left wing and is right-footed, completed the move on 19 August 2026. He becomes a Tondela player as the club compete in Liga Portugal 2.
The winger returns to Portugal after spending the 2025-26 season on loan at Serbian club OFK Beograd. That spell ended on 30 June, when he returned to Maccabi Tel Aviv before switching to Tondela.
Addo joined Maccabi from Slovakian club MSK Zilina in February 2024 for €500,000. He had moved into Zilina’s senior structure after progressing through MSK Zilina B and Zilina Africa, having begun his European career with Zilina’s development system.
During his time with Maccabi Tel Aviv, Addo won the Israeli championship twice, in the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons. He also collected the Israel Super Cup in 2024-25.
His most recent campaign with OFK Beograd ended without appearances in the competitions recorded for the 2025-26 season. He also had yet to feature for Maccabi Tel Aviv in the 2026-27 Europa League qualifying campaign or the Israeli Super Cup before moving to Portugal.
Addo is listed at 1.80m and was born in Ghana on 1 May 2003. He joins Tondela with a market value of €500,000 and a deal secured for the next two seasons beyond the current campaign.
The transfer gives Tondela a Ghanaian wide player with experience in Ghanaian, Slovakian, Israeli and Serbian football. Addo’s honours with Maccabi Tel Aviv remain the main trophies of his senior career, while his move to Portugal marks his latest change of club after returning from loan.
