The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced the shortlist for the Player of the Month award for February in the Ghana Premier League, highlighting four standout performers who impressed with their individual contributions during the month.

The nominees for this prestigious accolade are Samuel Attah Kumi of Bibiani Goldstars, Hussein Issah of Young Apostles, Augustine Okrah of Bechem United FC, and Abdul Raman-Yaya of Karela United FC.

Samuel Attah Kumi, the dynamic forward for Bibiani Goldstars, earned his nomination following a series of impressive performances. Over three matches in February, he scored two crucial goals and was recognized with one NASCO Player of the Match award, demonstrating his consistency, attacking prowess, and ability to influence games decisively. His performances helped Bibiani Goldstars maintain strong form during the month, and his contributions were integral to the team’s results.

Hussein Issah, representing Young Apostles, also made a strong case for the award. The forward featured in three league matches during February, netting two goals and earning a NASCO Player of the Match award. Issah’s attacking contributions, combined with his ability to create opportunities and impact the game in critical moments, have made him one of the league’s most noticeable performers in the period under review.

At Bechem United FC, the experienced striker Augustine Okrah showcased his goal-scoring instincts by finding the net three times in February. Although he did not collect a NASCO Player of the Match award, Okrah’s consistent ability to score and create chances for his team underlines his enduring quality and importance to Bechem United’s attacking lineup. His performances kept the team competitive in every match during the month.

Meanwhile, Abdul Raman-Yaya, the Karela United centre-back, impressed not only defensively but also offensively. Making two appearances in February, he managed to score once and won a NASCO Player of the Match award. Raman-Yaya played a key role in helping Karela United remain unbeaten throughout the month, combining solid defensive performances with an occasional goal threat, proving himself as a reliable and versatile contributor to the squad.

The winner of the Player of the Month award will be rewarded with a 43-inch NASCO television set and a NASCO double-door refrigerator with a bottom freezer, courtesy of Electroland Ghana Limited, the official distributors of NASCO products in Ghana. The award celebrates individual excellence and recognizes players who have had a major impact on the league during a specific period.

The four nominees have all delivered exceptional performances, each demonstrating different strengths — from goal-scoring and creative flair to defensive solidity — making the February award race highly competitive. Fans and league followers will be eager to see which player ultimately claims the honour as recognition for their hard work, talent, and contribution to their respective teams in the Ghana Premier League.
