Ghana Football Association president Kurt Okraku has declared that the Ghana national football team are no longer intimidated by elite opposition as they gear up for a high-profile international friendly against Germany national football team.
Speaking during a fundraising event for Ghana’s participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Okraku highlighted what he described as a significant shift in mentality within the national team under head coach Otto Addo.
According to the GFA boss, fixtures against top-tier nations like Germany once inspired fear, but the current squad has developed confidence and tactical maturity.
“A few years ago, if you heard a fixture like Ghana versus Germany, you’d be afraid,” Okraku said. “But today, we are very confident.
“The intangible assets that have been put together by Coach Addo and his team will make Ghana proud.”
The much-anticipated friendly, scheduled for March 30, 2026, in Stuttgart, will serve as a key test for the Black Stars as they continue preparations for the World Cup.
Ghana have been drawn into a challenging Group L alongside England, Croatia and Panama, but Okraku dismissed any notion of his team being underdogs.
With confidence high within the camp, his message was emphatic—the Black Stars are ready to compete at the highest level and “fear no foe” as they head into the global tournament.
