Antoine Semenyo has expressed concern over the fitness of teammate Mohammed Kudus following a fresh injury setback that could threaten his participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Speaking on the AllOutFootball Podcast, the Ghana national football team forward revealed that Kudus suffered a relapse while recovering from a quad injury that had already sidelined him for three months.
“It’s frustrating because he is a pivotal factor in the team for sure—we just have to see how it goes,” Semenyo admitted.
Kudus, who currently plays for Tottenham Hotspur, has endured a difficult debut season plagued by injuries, managing three goals and six assists in 26 appearances across all competitions.
His potential absence would be a huge setback for Ghana, given his importance as a creative force and attacking leader in the squad.
The Black Stars face a tough Group L challenge at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where they will come up against England, Croatia, and Panama.
Despite the uncertainty, Semenyo remains hopeful that Kudus can recover in time to feature, as Ghana prepare to open their campaign against Panama on June 17 in Toronto.
