Ghana forward Joseph Paintsil has expressed delight after netting on his return to action to help LA Galaxy to a comeback draw against FC Dallas in the MLS.
The 28-year-old spent six weeks on the sidelines due to injury, but made a huge impact following his return, creating and scoring in the 2-2 draw.
Paintsil served Lucas Sanabria for LA Galaxy’s first before netting a minute later to cancel a Petar Musa double for FC Dallas.
“It’s been a rough season for me, getting injured for almost 6 weeks. This is not something that any footballers want, but it’s also part of the game. But being on the score sheet today, it has really made me feel really good,” he said after the game.
“It boosts my energy to also give me more confidence to go to the next game. And, yeah, the team did everything possible to take this one point. I’m just really grateful that I’m still healthy and for getting minutes in this game against Dallas,” he added.
The strike was Painstil’s first in the league as the 2024 champions push for a return to the playoffs.
