Black Stars winger Joseph Paintsil continued his strong run of form in Major League Soccer, finding the net for LA Galaxy in their 1-1 draw against Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Saturday night.
The Black Stars winger, recently back from injury, is gradually regaining top form. He has now recorded two goals and two assists in seven league appearances this season, signaling a return to his best.
After a subdued first half, Paintsil broke the deadlock shortly after the restart. The 26-year-old latched onto a well-weighted pass from Lucas Sanabria and finished with composure to hand his side the lead.
Galaxy appeared set to claim all three points, but the visitors responded late. With nine minutes remaining, Mathías Laborda rose above the defense to head in the equalizer for the Whitecaps, ensuring the match ended level.
The game also featured Ghanaian forward Emmanuel Afriyie Sabbi, who played for Vancouver as they fought to secure a valuable point away from home.
Paintsil’s return to form will be encouraging for both club and country, as he begins to show the attacking spark that made him one of Galaxy’s standout performers last season.
The result keeps LA Galaxy’s campaign on a steady path, while Vancouver Whitecaps remain firmly in the mix in the Western Conference standings.
