Turkish giants Trabzonspor are reportedly interested in signing Ghana international Joseph Paintsil ahead of the summer transfer window, with the winger emerging as one of the club’s priority targets for next season.
The Black Stars attacker, who currently plays for LA Galaxy in Major League Soccer, has attracted interest from several clubs following his impressive performances in the United States.
Paintsil joined LA Galaxy from Belgian side KRC Genk in 2024 and has quickly established himself as a key figure for the club. Since his arrival, the 28-year-old has registered 33 goals and 13 assists in 81 appearances across all competitions.
GHANAsoccernet.com understands that Trabzonspor head coach Fatih Tekke is a huge admirer of the Ghanaian winger and is eager to bring him to Turkey due to his versatility and attacking qualities.
Paintsil’s ability to operate across multiple attacking positions is believed to be one of the major reasons behind Trabzonspor’s interest as the Turkish outfit looks to strengthen its squad for the upcoming campaign.
The club’s move for the Ghanaian also highlights their growing focus on recruiting proven attacking talent from the American market.
Despite the strong interest, Trabzonspor are expected to face a difficult task in negotiations, with Paintsil still under contract at LA Galaxy until 2027. Any potential deal is likely to require a significant transfer fee.
For the Ghana international, a switch to Turkey would mark another important chapter in a career that has already seen him play in multiple European leagues before moving to MLS.
