Dutch-Ghanaian defender Leeroy Owusu emerged as the hero for Odense Boldklub after scoring a crucial late goal in their 2-2 draw away to Randers FC in the Danish Superliga relegation group.
The right-back found the net in the 74th minute, timing his run perfectly before calmly finishing from a Jann-Fiete Arp assist to complete a spirited comeback for the visitors.
OB had started the match brightly at Cepheus Park Randers and took an early lead after just eight minutes when Arp curled in a direct free-kick to hand Alexander Zorniger’s side control of the contest.
However, Randers responded strongly after halftime and quickly turned the game around with two rapid goals.
Nikolas Dyhr equalised with a header in the 66th minute before Thibault Klidje fired the hosts ahead barely a minute later.
With momentum shifting heavily in Randers’ favour, OB needed a response, and Owusu stepped up with a decisive contribution.
The defender’s composed finish secured a valuable point for his side and further highlighted his growing influence both defensively and in attack.
The draw also extended OB’s unbeaten run against Randers FC to nine matches, giving the team confidence ahead of their next fixture away to Vejle Boldklub on May 17.
