Medeama SC have been officially crowned champions of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League after a commanding 5–2 victory over Heart of Lions at the Tarkwa and Aboso (TnA) Stadium on a memorable afternoon in Tarkwa.

The Mauve and Yellow sealed the title with a game to spare, producing a dominant performance in front of their home fans to cap off an outstanding campaign under head coach Ibrahim Tanko.

From the outset, Medeama showed their intent, controlling possession and putting Heart of Lions under sustained pressure. Their attacking quality quickly told as they raced into a comfortable lead, with clinical finishing and sharp movement causing constant problems for the visitors’ defence.

Heart of Lions, however, refused to go down without a fight and managed to find the net twice in an open and entertaining contest. But every time the visitors threatened a comeback, Medeama responded with greater firepower and composure in the final third.

The home side’s attacking unit was in devastating form, punishing defensive lapses and converting chances with ruthless efficiency. By the final whistle, Medeama had netted five goals in a statement performance that underlined their superiority throughout the season.

The emphatic win ensures Medeama cannot be caught at the top of the table, confirming them as champions with one match still remaining in the campaign. It marks a historic achievement for the Tarkwa-based club and further strengthens their status as one of Ghana’s most consistent sides in recent years.

As celebrations erupted at the TnA Stadium, players, officials, and supporters united to mark a season defined by discipline, consistency, and attacking brilliance.

For Heart of Lions, it was a difficult afternoon despite their two goals, as they were ultimately overwhelmed by a Medeama side operating at peak confidence and championship level.

Medeama’s triumph completes a remarkable season and delivers another Ghana Premier League title to Tarkwa, sparking jubilant scenes across the mining town.
