Netherlands-born goalkeeper Paul Reverson has been spotted in the Black Stars camp for the first time, marking a significant development in Ghana’s preparations ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The talented shot-stopper, who currently serves as the third-choice goalkeeper at Ajax, is now part of the national team setup as he looks to impress the technical team and secure a place in the final squad.
Reverson’s inclusion has sparked increased competition among the goalkeeping department, where he is expected to battle for one of the three available spots with Benjamin Asare, Lawrence Ati-Zigi, Abdul Manaf Nurudeen Agbasi, and other contenders including Danlad Ibrahim Annan.
The goalkeeper department is shaping up to be one of the most competitive areas in the squad, with all players aiming to convince the coaching staff ahead of the global tournament.
Reverson’s presence also highlights Ghana’s growing interest in diaspora talent, as the team continues to strengthen its depth with players born and developed abroad but eligible to represent the Black Stars.
The final squad selection will depend on form, consistency, and performance in the coming months as the technical team finalises preparations for the World Cup.
