Ghana Premier League champions Medeama SC have bolstered their squad with the signing of central defender Yaya Abdul-Raman on a three-year deal after the expiration of his contract with Karela United.
The 23-year-old joins the Tarkwa-based side following an impressive spell at Karela United, where he earned a reputation as one of the league’s dependable defenders. Renowned for his calmness in possession, strong tackling, and disciplined performances, Abdul-Raman is expected to add quality and stability to Medeama’s backline as the club prepares to defend its league title and compete in the CAF Champions League.
Speaking after completing the move, Abdul-Raman expressed his delight at joining the reigning champions, describing Medeama as a club with a winning culture and saying he is eager to begin the next phase of his career.
He also stated that the club’s ambitions align with his personal goals and pledged to work hard to help Medeama achieve more success. The defender added that winning another Ghana Premier League title and giving his all for the club and its supporters remain among his top priorities.
Abdul-Raman’s arrival forms part of Medeama’s efforts to strengthen the squad under head coach Ibrahim Tanko ahead of a challenging season in both domestic and continental competitions.
