Ghanaian-English attacking midfielder Kayden Lucas has completed a move to West Bromwich Albion from Newcastle United, signing a contract that runs until the summer of 2027 with an option for an additional year.
The 18-year-old, who was born in Bristol, joins Albion as he looks to continue his development and establish himself as a regular member of the club’s Premier League 2 squad.
A left-footed attacking midfielder, Lucas describes himself as a player who enjoys controlling the tempo of games, carrying the ball forward and producing progressive passes to create attacking opportunities.
The youngster began his football journey with Weston Town before gaining further experience at Exeter City and Clevedon Town. His performances earned him a two-year scholarship with Newcastle United in 2024.
After making progress in the Magpies’ academy system, Lucas now starts a new chapter at West Brom, where he will aim to impress the coaching staff and secure regular playing opportunities.
The talented midfielder’s immediate goal is clear — to become a consistent performer for Albion while continuing his pathway towards senior football.
