Ghana-eligible defender Evann Seyram Junior Senaya has completed a season-long loan move from FC Basel to Swiss Challenge League side FC Rapperswil-Jona for the 2026/27 season.
The 20-year-old defender, who is the younger brother of Black Stars defender Marvin Senaya, will spend the campaign with Rapperswil-Jona in search of regular first-team football. The loan agreement does not include an option to buy, with the youngster expected to return to Basel at the end of the season.
Junior Senaya joined FC Basel’s academy in 2019 and has steadily progressed through the club’s youth ranks before earning promotion to the U21 side. Comfortable in defensive roles, he is regarded as a promising prospect with significant room for development.
Born with eligibility to represent Ghana, France or Togo at international level, Senaya remains one of several dual-national players being monitored ahead of future international call-ups.
Meanwhile, his elder brother Marvin Senaya, who plays for French Ligue 1 side Auxerre and represents the Black Stars, is continuing his rehabilitation after suffering an injury during Ghana’s 2026 FIFA World Cup Round of 32 clash against Colombia.
