Former Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Kwame Baah has joined South African club The Bees FC on a one-year contract, with an option to extend the agreement for another season.
The 28-year-old moves to the Motsepe Foundation Championship side as a free agent, taking with him considerable experience from Ghanaian football and international competitions.
Born in Accra on April 21, 1998, Baah began his professional career with Heart of Lions in Ghana’s Division One League before moving to Inter Allies FC.
He joined Asante Kotoko in the summer of 2019 and subsequently established himself as one of the club’s goalkeeping options.
Baah played an important role in Kotoko’s successful 2021/22 Ghana Premier League title campaign. He also featured in the CAF Champions League during his time with the Porcupine Warriors, making two appearances and completing 180 minutes in the competition.
At international level, Baah has represented Ghana at both U-20 and U-23 level, earning five caps for the Black Meteors.
Following his departure from Kotoko in 2023, the goalkeeper had a spell with ASAS of Djibouti before spending a period without a club. He was also previously linked with a move to Hearts of Oak.
His transfer to The Bees FC offers Baah an opportunity to relaunch his career and bring his experience to South African football.
The Bees FC will be hoping the experienced goalkeeper can provide leadership and stability as they pursue their targets in the upcoming season.
For Baah, the one-year contract, which includes an option for an additional season, presents an opportunity to prove himself in a new environment and earn a longer-term stay with the club.
