Asante Kotoko have emerged as the only Ghana Premier League club to satisfy all of the Ghana Football Association’s club licensing requirements without receiving any sanctions ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The GFA’s Club Licensing Committee approved 14 of the 18 venues submitted by clubs for the new campaign, which is set to kick off on September 5.
Speaking to Asempa FM, the committee’s chairman, Dr. Kwame Baah-Nuako, disclosed that the Porcupine Warriors were the only club to achieve full compliance during the licensing process.
“Asante Kotoko is the only club that met the club licensing regulations and was approved without sanctions,” he said.
Kotoko will continue to host their home matches at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi after successfully meeting all the required standards.
The achievement highlights the club’s commitment to maintaining the GFA’s operational, administrative and infrastructure requirements ahead of the new season.
The Porcupine Warriors will begin their 2026/27 Ghana Premier League campaign away to newly promoted Debibi United, as they aim to make a strong start under head coach Eric Tinkler.
